What PolyDADMAC Powder Is

PolyDADMAC is a strongly cationic polymer: quaternary ammonium groups along the chain carry a stable positive charge from acidic to neutral pH. In water that charge does two jobs at once. It neutralizes negatively charged colloids so they stop repelling each other, and it bridges them into dense flocs that settle or float quickly. The product on this page is the dry powder, at 90% plus active content, rather than the dilute solution most buyers know as liquid PolyDADMAC.

Liquid PolyDADMAC is a ready solution, usually 20% or 40% active, and it is convenient for continuous dosing straight from the tank. • To make a working solution, sprinkle the powder slowly into vigorously stirred cold water and keep agitating for 30 to 45 minutes until clear; do not dump it in, or it clumps into fish-eyes. A made-down solution stays active for one to two months in a closed tank.
