D-Limonene CAS 5989-27-5
D-Limonene (CAS 5989-27-5) is a natural cyclic terpene, a colorless to pale yellow liquid with a fresh citrus smell. It comes from citrus peel, floats on water and dissolves greases. Industrial grades replace petroleum solvents in degreasing and adhesive removal, while food and cosmetic grades add citrus notes to flavors and fragrances, and serves terpene synthesis and natural insecticide work. UATChem supplies industrial, food and cosmetic grades in drums and 1000 kg IBCs, with COA, TDS and SDS on request.

What D-Limonene Is
D-Limonene, or R-(+)-limonene, is the cyclic monoterpene p-mentha-1,8-diene, formula C10H16. The liquid has a bright citrus odor, is lighter than water and barely mixes with it, and dissolves in oils and alcohol. Exposed to air it slowly oxidizes, so drums stay sealed and cool. As a solvent it cuts grease without petroleum odor, and as a terpene it carries citrus flavor and fragrance. UATChem supplies the liquid, with assay on the COA and TDS.
Degreasing, Cleaning, Fragrance and Flavor Uses
- Industrial degreasing and cleaning. It removes grease, oil, ink and adhesive residue, replacing petroleum solvents in cleaners and degreasers.
- Fragrance and flavor. It brings citrus notes to fragrances and food flavors, the main use of food and cosmetic grades.
- Terpene synthesis and insecticide. It feeds terpene chemical work and serves as a natural insecticide in pet and household products.
- Cosmetic and household. It scents soaps, detergents and air fresheners, and buyers blending citrus with other terpene notes also use terpineol.

Packaging, Documents and Ordering
- Orders ship in plastic or steel drums, and bulk volumes in 1000 kg IBCs, matching the photos. Keep the liquid sealed, cool and away from air and light, as it oxidizes on exposure.
- Every lot comes with a COA, TDS and SDS covering assay and lot data, with food and cosmetic grade documents available on request.
- Samples are available for evaluation. To quote, UATChem needs the grade, quantity, packing and destination port.
