About the Technical Grade

Alpha-cypermethrin is a type II pyrethroid insecticide used in farming, public health and stored-grain protection. The 95% TC on this page is the concentrated active material that goes into emulsifiable concentrates, wettable powders, suspension concentrates and ultra-low-volume sprays. Regular cypermethrin carries eight isomers and most of them do little work; alpha-cypermethrin keeps just the active cis pair at a fixed 1:1 ratio, giving the same control at about half the rate. Isomer ratio and assay are the two numbers on the COA that matter.

Target Pests and Uses

• Agricultural crops. Cotton, rice, vegetables and fruit trees against lepidopteran larvae, aphids, whiteflies, bollworms and beetles; high potency keeps per-hectare rates and residues low.
• Public health and vector control. Residual wall sprays and space sprays against mosquitoes, cockroaches and flies, including indoor residual spraying programs for malaria and dengue control.
• Stored product and facility protection. Structural treatments and labeled grain applications in warehouses and food plants against weevils, flour moths, warehouse beetles and mites.

• Store sealed in steel or fibre drums in a dedicated cool, dry pesticide warehouse below 30 °C, segregated from food, feed, seed and animal supplies; temperature control preserves isomer stability and assay.
• Wear chemical-resistant gloves, goggles and particulate respiratory protection during bulk handling; avoid skin contact, eye exposure and dust or mist inhalation.
• Moderately toxic to mammals and highly toxic to fish, bees and aquatic organisms. Keep away from waterways and flowering crops; ship as regulated pesticide cargo with complete dangerous-goods papers.
